Begin by taking Highway 89 north from Flagstaff. After a few miles, turn left onto County Road 395. The right leads to the Sunset Crater National Monument. Parking is somewhat limited and should be best near the start of the trail. 0.2 miles offers a sufficient place to park. Reset your trip odometer here and begin riding northwest on the fairly easy road. Make a right at the ‘T’ at 0.4 miles. Continue to the left at 0.9 miles. Stay on the main road ignoring lesser roads until 1.55 miles. Turn right here. The trail winds and works its way toward Lockett Meadow. Use caution as there may be ice or snow on the road. At 4.4 miles, enter Lockett Meadow. Continue straight or turn right and explore the gorgeous Lockett Meadow. Consider extending your trip by exploring other trails in Lockett Meadow. Make sure, as always, to tread lightly and stay on the designated trail.
