Sedona Trip

This trip, is one that is very fun and can be done time and time again. Located just an hour and half north of Phoenix, Sedona provides a neat family fun getaway. We have been on this trip many times and each time, we see something different every time. Both times we went on a helicopter tours with Red Rock Helicopter Tours. This is probably the best way to see Sedona, from the air. When you get to the airport, located on Airport Mesa, you enter the terminal and get to look at a lot of unique aviation items. When your flight is ready, you are driven out to the helipad where a helicopter is waiting for you. Tours range from 15-45 minutes, depending on how much you pay and how much you want to see. On our tour, we flew into Secret Canyon where we were met by breathtaking views as well as Indian ruins not accessible by foot. Later in the flight, we got great views of Sedona and Highway 89A which runs through Sedona. After back on the ground, we stopped for lunch at the Airport Café, which offers good food and quality service. Later in the trip, we drove up Oak Creek Canyon where we stopped for some pictures and to relax surrounded by beautiful scenery. Other cool places to stop are the Holy Cross Church, and Ramsey’s Rock and Mineral store. These two places are some of the places we stopped while we were in Sedona. After this, we headed back home. One might stay in Sedona a night and then on the way back to Phoenix stop in nearby Jerome. We did not do this however and only spent the day in Sedona.
